What I loved most about Stockholm was Skansen, an enormous open-air museum with Scandinavian animals, antique houses and cute little cafés. They say the best season to go there is during the breeding period in May/June. But I believe that the weeks before Christmas are the most beautiful ones, when everything is dipped in white snow and you can have a stroll around the little market. Although this surely is the coldest season.
Not far away is the Abba Museum, where you can do lots of interactive stuff like shooting your own music video. But it is quite expensive for a museum. Actually everything in Stockholm is expensive, especially the food. But this should´t keep you from going there. At least the quality of the food is good, so good that you could almost say it is worth the price (with emphasis on 'almost'). We had our first lunch at Tradition, where you can get - guess what - traditional Swedish dishes. You´ll get cheaper Köttbullar at Ikea but the ones we got there were really really good and we loved the atmosphere.

From the pictures I´ve seen I thought Stockholm would be more like Amsterdam, but it is not the case except for some buildings in the inner city like the ones next to the Noble Museum.
The inner city called Gamla Stan has lots of historic buildings, not to mention the Royal Palace - which I thought -even though it is really huge - would be more pompous and breathtaking (like the Buckingham Palace in London maybe).
If you walk around Gamla Stand you´ll find Stockholms most narrow alley - Marten Trotzigs Gränd.
During the past year I became fond of Northern Europe. Even though it is quite cold there, you can find amazing landscapes. After Iceland and Sweden the next stop on my wish list is Oslo - can´t wait.
Happy travelling,

PS: I´m sorry this post took so long, but better late than never, right?
